Stutton Support Network was set up in October 2014, after a number of meetings involving people in the village. We are currently run by a steering group of four out of a larger group of twenty-nine volunteers – all of whom are DBS checked. All residents of Stutton are invited to attend our General and Annual Meetings.
We formally adopted a Constitution, and policies on Confidentiality, Data Protection, and Safeguarding at our inaugaral AGM.
The steering group consists of:
Fran Flower – chair, Jenny Morris – secretary, Jane Pavitt – treasurer, and Ian Heywood – vice chair. At the moment the four of us, plus two other volunteers Frances Blackwell and Janet White, are taking it in turns to be the Person on Call.
Detailed records of each task are kept. By far the most popular request is for help with transport. During the first six months our volunteers drove people to the shops, to the GP surgery and to Ipswich hospitals.
We have received funding from the Parish Council, Community Council and from our local Councillor, Dave Woods. Some of our users have made donations to the network which are much appreciated.
